Support For New Students
We understand school is such an important part in our students’ lives. At Glenferrie Primary our teaching staff work together to support each child as a whole. And our vibrant school community, including our Parents & Friends Association, and informal year-level parent groups, will ensure new families also quickly get up to speed with school life and social events throughout the year.
New parents – both for incoming prep students at the start of the year and for students in any year level starting at any time in the year – are well supported by the School community. Your child will:
-
Be allocated a student buddy to help them with any initial questions and for playground
-
Have an initial 1:1 learning assessment with their teacher to expedite the development of an individualised learning plan, ensuring they are taught at their level of need
-
Support from the school leadership team to ensure they are settling in well, particularly over the first 1-2 months.
Check out the information below on different supports and extracurricular activities.
