Parents - How you can be involved

Glenferrie Primary School welcomes parents and carers to participate in our school life.

Many programs cannot operate without parental support. Parents frequently work with our teachers to support learning in Literacy (Reading and Writing) and Numeracy.

Additionally, parents are often called on to assist in incursions and excursions, lunchtime clubs, camps, interschool sports, and other special days.

If you would like to be involved, we would love to have you. Please contact the office to organise privacy training.

It is also recommended that parent helpers get a Working With Children check prior to volunteering here. This can easily arranged by visiting:

Parents and Friends

The Glenferrie Primary School Parents and Friends (GPS P&F) are a group of parents and sometimes grandparents and friends who aim to build a great sense of belonging in the school community and to raise funds for the school. This is achieved through variety of school and class events.  P&F organised or assisted teachers with Glenferrie Road Festival Book Stall, Family breakfast, Book Talks, Bunnings BBQ, Election Day Sausage Sizzle, Footy Day, Book Day and Italian Day. Funds raised by P&F fundraising has purchased student take home readers and supported landscaping projects and much more.

GPS P&F are always in need of people to help out in all aspects from classroom representatives, pre-event planning, sourcing and purchasing for events, advertising events, set up and help at the time of events.

If you are interested in getting involved in any aspect of P&F, classroom representative, planning or helping out at one or some events, please contact them at gpspandf@gmail.com, and let them know how you could help or if you have any comments or suggestions.
