Physical Education
The Physical Education Program at Glenferrie Primary School is run by a specialist Physical Education and Health teacher. The program focuses explicitly on developing movement skills and concepts students require to participate in physical activities with competence and confidence. The knowledge, understanding and skills students develop through movement in Health and Physical Education encourages ongoing participation across their lifespan and in turn leads to positive health outcomes.
Students participate in many sporting events including cross country, athletics, swimming, bike education, footy day and hoop time basketball at a school level and beyond.
In addition to the weekly Physical Education program, Year 5 and 6 students also participate in Inter-school Sport, competing against local schools in the Kew District. Students in Years 3 and 4 participate in a weekly sport session run by the classroom teachers.
